So grateful I stumbled on this podcast when I need it the most.
The topics are very interesting but I’ve found often the hosts just seem to talk at the listener, often using jargon very specific to the field and not so much accessible to your average person. I also found a lot of “I found that cuz made me feel better.” Without an explanation on xyz or actionable tips.
Liking the episodes so far, my only comment & area where I struggle as a listener has to do with me feeling like large portions of the episodes do a great job at explaining what’s going on neurologically and systematically, but contribute much less time towards explaining practical steps to take towards changing some fo these predictable & wired reactions. I wanted to comment that if someone “iced out” (ignored or didn’t speak to) their child this is actually called alexithymia. I experienced the opposite case where I got overwhelmed by my mother and iced her out. I basically had no words and couldn’t pinpoint what I was even feeling. So I froze.
