  • Educational and entertaining

A doctor who talks about medicine, fantasy books, government and economics. Super interesting. The volume of the podcast can be a bit low and it’s hard to listen to in a warehouse environment(like my job) but otherwise I’ve got no complaints.

  • Your HATE for Trump OVERSHADOWS

Doc, I use to love listening to your podcast as a Paramedic but every episode since Trump won, that’s your focus. I don’t like him either but it overshadows the Podcast. Now if you wanna make a podcast about Docs Political Talk I’m for it

I’ve listened to this specific podcast several

times because it had so much interesting and informative information, presented with real

life practicality. The book reviews are equally as compelling.

  • Love this podcast.

I’m an RN who works in a pulmonary progressive care unit, and I love this podcast! It’s a good refresher on things I learned in nursing school, and since the host is an icu doctor, he gets a bit deeper into the nitty gritty on some of these important topics. Very informative, easy to follow, and helpful for the nurse who wants to continue to learn and grow in their profession.

  • Great Listen

I’ve followed ICU Doc on IG for some time, but only just started listening to the podcast. If you like his posts, you’ll love the podcasts. For him to have the opportunity for longer discussions on both healthcare topics and the books works better than individual posts. Can’t wait to hear more!

Ep. 75 How to Think in a Crisis
Q: Why was the anesthetic light during the case you managed?
It was due to the surgeons' requirement for a very specific blood pressure management that led to the patient's anesthetic becoming too light.
Ep. 75 How to Think in a Crisis
Q: How do you stay calm in an emergency and disastrous situations?
It definitely gets better with time and experience, and you need to embrace uncertainty and chaos.

Q: Would you ever cover any information or cases related to pregnant or postpartum patients?
Yes, pregnancy is high risk for severe COVID, and we do have experience treating pregnant patients on ECMO.
Ep. 69 Critical Care Story Time
Q: How do you consume the books you read?
I both read and listen to audiobooks. I read on my phone like e-books all the time throughout the cracks of my day, and then I listen to audiobooks at two times speed during my commute or when I'm doing chores.
Ep. 46 Tele ICU
Q: What can a med student do on an ICU rotation to stand out?
A medical student should know their patients well, understand the global picture of their condition, summarize the daily plan succinctly, ask questions, and not act when unsure.
