  • Your HATE for Trump OVERSHADOWS

Doc, I use to love listening to your podcast as a Paramedic but every episode since Trump won, that’s your focus. I don’t like him either but it overshadows the Podcast. Now if you wanna make a podcast about Docs Political Talk I’m for it

  • Heart arrhythmias

I’ve listened to this specific podcast several

times because it had so much interesting and informative information, presented with real

life practicality. The book reviews are equally as compelling.

  • Love this podcast.

I’m an RN who works in a pulmonary progressive care unit, and I love this podcast! It’s a good refresher on things I learned in nursing school, and since the host is an icu doctor, he gets a bit deeper into the nitty gritty on some of these important topics. Very informative, easy to follow, and helpful for the nurse who wants to continue to learn and grow in their profession.

  • Great Listen

I’ve followed ICU Doc on IG for some time, but only just started listening to the podcast. If you like his posts, you’ll love the podcasts. For him to have the opportunity for longer discussions on both healthcare topics and the books works better than individual posts. Can’t wait to hear more!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Ep. 70 Choosing a Specialty, Pregnancy and ECMO
Q: Would you ever cover any information or cases related to pregnant or postpartum patients?
Yes, pregnancy is high risk for severe COVID, and we do have experience treating pregnant patients on ECMO.
Ep. 69 Critical Care Story Time
Q: How do you consume the books you read?
I both read and listen to audiobooks. I read on my phone like e-books all the time throughout the cracks of my day, and then I listen to audiobooks at two times speed during my commute or when I'm doing chores.
Ep. 46 Tele ICU
Q: What can a med student do on an ICU rotation to stand out?
A medical student should know their patients well, understand the global picture of their condition, summarize the daily plan succinctly, ask questions, and not act when unsure.
Ep. 49 Tracheostomy
Q: What advice do you have for pre-med students feeling uncertain about their future?
Focus on doing what makes you happy, embrace uncertainty, and understand that the future may differ from your current vision.
Ep. 51 Central Lines
Q: What are the pros and cons of anesthesia versus emergency medicine for a critical care residency?
It depends on personal interests and the specific fellowship opportunities available; both pathways can lead to outstanding critical care physicians.
