Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Reading Books With Our Eyes Closed
Q: What is a comic you would recommend to each of us now, today, that you think we'd enjoy?
For Paul, Ice Cream Man and Joe Golem. For Mike, Oshinbo and The Fable.
Bonus: Paul's Fantastic (Four) Journey
Q: What do you think about the portrayal of characters in the early issues?
Stan Lee's writing sometimes contains inherent sexism, especially concerning Sue Storm, but as the series progresses, there's a notable shift in the character dynamics.
Bonus: Paul's Fantastic (Four) Journey
Q: How is it reading a bunch of them at the same time?
Reading older books involves frequent recaps in the early issues, but they quickly trust the reader to understand the characters without repeating their backstories.
What Do Teenagers Sound Like?
Q: How sometimes I feel like authors are struggling capturing voices of younger characters. How was this?
The comic doesn't use current teen slang and feels real instead of overly mature, which I appreciated.
Thanks For The Threat (ft. Claire Connelly)
Q: What drives you to build specific flash pages?
It usually starts off being me being like, I like to draw literally all the time, and sometimes it's about discovering something new through repetition in drawing, like when I draw skulls.
