If You Start Driving Now, You Can Kick His Ass Tomorrow

Brian talks about Crownsville as a leading nominee and discusses its heavy subject matter, author, and artistry.
If You Start Driving Now, You Can Kick His Ass Tomorrow
Q: Nick, you didn't tell them the promo code to subscribe to Apple TV.
Nick deflects with humor about Apple shilling, then shifts to discussing the Eisner-nominated Crownsville and other titles.
Hard. Killing People Hard. (ft. Zack Kaplan)
Q: Zach, how did this team get assembled?
Kaplan explains that he wrote the project with John Pearson in mind from the outset, believing his style would suit the concept and seeing Mindset as a precedent for continued collaboration, then developing treatments and outlines to align the story with both artists' strengths.
Put A Kaiju In It (ft. Julio Anta)
Q: Julio, what is Beast of Borikén about and where does the cryptid angle come from?
It blends a modern Puerto Rican land-rights narrative with a Chupacabra that possesses humanity, created from a mix of local legend and personal experience, aiming to ground fantastical elements in real-world issues.
We Gotta Power Him Down (ft. Henry Barajas & Rachel Merrill)
Q: Henry, how did you adapt your approach when moving from reality-based projects to a historical noir fictional work like Death To Pachuco?
The difference was a complete departure; I used a BBC masterclass experience to recalibrate tools and storytelling, embracing new techniques while maintaining respect for the historical elements, so the noir mood could coexist with accurate context.
