Putting In Your Own Words
Q: Do you actually try different impulses or actions for each thought, or do you?
No, I don't try different impulses, but I focus on the overall action while recognizing the sequence of thoughts for each line.
What Acting Is and Isn't
Q: What are your thoughts on going outside the script to stimulate what you've sensed in the script?
Justice emphasizes the importance of behavior and drawing from personal experience and imagination, rather than inventing circumstances that aren't true to the play.
There Is No One Secret to Acting
Q: Is there ever a point where you get good enough at making choices that you are making, that you get beyond making the choice?
Yes, it is a muscle. It is a muscle. I've done it for so long. I mean, I've been teaching for 35 years... It's why I say, you know, you can do something I love, something I hate every single morning.
