  • Essential for newbies

This January, at 47, I decided to try acting. That same week I auditioned for a part in a local play and I ended up getting cast! Since then, I have been listening and re-listening to this incredible podcast. For anyone new to the craft of acting, this should be required listening and I’ve been hanging on every helpful and honest word. All the episodes are amazing but the episode with Matthew Macfadyen is sensational and I just listened to it again for the 5th time prior to a big rehearsal. Ful... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Tom Hiddleston (From the Vault)
Q: How do you prepare for a scene where Loki watches the totality of his life and it's largely a reaction moment?
I focus on being specific with the memory bank of scenes that define Loki's life, ground myself in vulnerability, and let the audience's connection to the arc carry the emotional weight, while staying honest to the character's internal world.
Tom Hiddleston (From the Vault)
Q: Tom, how's it going?
It's going very well, and I'm grateful to be here discussing the work and the process. It's a real pleasure.
Sarah Pidgeon
Q: What was the audition experience like during the 2018 move to New York?
Auditions were frequent and intense, with self-tapes becoming a norm; I learned to project humanity and warmth in a role that tabloids had painted as icy, and I kept refining through multiple takes.
Sarah Pidgeon
Q: What has life been like as an Emmy nominee?
It's surreal and an incredible honor to be recognized among inspiring peers; it heightens the sense of responsibility to the work and the people who supported the project.
Sarah Pidgeon
Q: Sarah, how's it going?
I'm in a good place, navigating a very exciting year, balancing the momentum from Love Story with new projects and the need for downtime to reflect and reset.
