  • Do not give Alec Baldwin a platform

Boohoo, am I supposed to feel bad for Alec Baldwin? He wants to retire? I bet the woman he shot and killed wants to have such problems. Why are we giving him a platform? He needs to take his fake Spanish wife and disappear. They should take the 7 brats with them. This is a topic I can't imagine anyone being interested in.

  • Springsteen

I have to say that I have heard hundreds of interviews with Springsteen and the questions at the end were the best questions I have ever heard him being asked. I don’t know if you asked people to give you ideas of what to ask but they were great. Loved that you asked if there is a certain place where he gets ideas to write. I always wondered the same thing. Nice work!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Alec Baldwin [LIVE]
Q: How did you navigate the balance between stage and screen early in your career?
Broadway and Off-Broadway offered a space to refine performance, while film opportunities taught pace and collaboration with directors and crews, making I value both worlds.
Alec Baldwin [LIVE]
Q: What led you to NYU and how did the decision change your path?
Receiving a full scholarship to NYU after initially thinking acting school was impractical changed everything; it opened a doorway to formal training and a route into New York's acting scene.
Alec Baldwin [LIVE]
Q: Where were you born and raised and what did your folks do for a living?
I grew up on the South Shore of Long Island; my dad was a schoolteacher and my family fostered a love of cinema that shaped my imagination and career choices.
David Puttnam
Q: Looking back, what lessons did you take from the Columbia Pictures era that you apply to film-financing and production today?
The core lesson is that success is built on relationships and on backing people with a clear, compelling vision rather than chasing star-driven projects; you must protect the creative integrity while ensuring sustainable financing and strong partnerships to sustain long-term success.
David Puttnam
Q: Can you describe the challenges you faced getting Chariots of Fire distributed in the United States and how you ultimately secured a deal that helped the film flourish internationally?
The US distribution path was rocky; after initial rejections, strategic screenings and championing by influential executives, including Sandy Leiberson and Chuck Champlin, helped turn the tide, culminating in a partnership that allowed the film to reach audiences beyond the UK and build the momentum that led to its Oscar acclaim.
