Comedian Lee Mack has long had an interest in Buddhism, mindfulness and the possibility of leading a more spiritual life. After a few years of dabbling in meditation, he feels the time has come to decide once and for all whether he should seriously seek spiritual enlightenment. ‘I Can’t Believe It’s Not Buddha’ is a new podcast which finds Lee and his friend Neil taking their first (often clumsy) ... more

Round and round banter at the expense of the point. Good if you don’t mind waiting for something briefly interesting.
It’s hard to write a review for this show becuase it is many different things, I’ve just listened to the Jamie Catto episode and loved the thoughtful and wise reflections, but equally, I enjoyed the giggling nonsense of early episodes with Lee and Niel hanging on.
The move to start talking to people like Jamie and Rupert Spira etc has been a good evolution.
And I guess I’d just say thank you.
Hilarious!! They’re both very witty, and because they’re mates it’s even funnier. I’ve been interested in Buddhism for about a decade and it can be a serious and confusing subject. A lot of what they discuss here is so relatable and reassuring and I’m going to go back and listen to all the episodes again. Thank you!
What a shame completely agree with Simon Walton below the first few episodes were so good really really hilarious and I was learning about a lot about Buddhism as well, but it did feel as if Lee had given up, and even sabotaging’ some of Nicks interesting lines of inquiry. Good to learn a bit more about Lee’s comedy genius though he really is fantastic, but not on this show.
Found this podcast only recently, but love it so much I’ve literally listened to all the episodes twice. The perfect blend of comedy and tales of 2 mates going through the beginnings of their spiritual journeys. They probably won’t believe it, but this podcast inspired me to get back on my path. If you’re super serious about Buddhism/spirituality, this ain’t for you…..
