  • My New Top Podcast

I really love this duo. After my favorite science-based health and wellness podcast aired its last episode, I was yearning for a podcast with good, reliable information, voices that I could stand to listen to, personalities that didn’t irk me, and truth. I really love Kate and Michael. They have a great synergy, you can tell they put a lot of work into the podcast, the content is *evidence-based,* not flashy and they aren’t selling you on anything (products, ideas, etc.) Just the facts mixed wit... more

  • Thoughtful and informative

This is an excellent podcast. The hosts are incredibly knowledgeable and clearly do their research. They are empathetic and kind and while clearly intelligent, they are humble and willing to learn. Love that they acknowledge nuance and don’t push a ‘one size fits all’ approach.

  • Breath of Fresh Air

Love Kate and Michael! This podcast is grounded in science, doesn’t have one hint of clickbait, and is just a breath of fresh air in this post-truth era (sorry, love that phrase) where misinformation spreads like wildfire. Just two lovely people breaking down interesting topics in a super digestible manner. Very fun to listen to!

71 | Listener Q&A: Answering Your Biggest Exercise Questions
Q: Is muscle memory really a thing even after years away from training?
Yes, muscle memory is real. It involves biological and neurological adaptations that allow you to maintain or rebuild strength faster after a break because muscles develop extra nuclei and the nervous system remains primed, meaning you don't return to square one after time off.
65 | How Health Influencers Spread Misinformation with Mallory DeMille
Q: Tell us how you ended up here. Tell us about you and how you got to this space you're living in right now.
Mallory explains her background in marketing and fitness, how Instagram and influencer culture inspired her shift toward fact-checking wellness claims, and her motivation to protect people from misleading marketing.
59 | The Proteinification of Everything
Q: How do we get more protein without going overboard?
Start with breakfast, aim for identifiable amounts of protein at each meal, and remember that little sources add up over the day.
56 | Q&A: Fasted Workouts, Appetite Management, and the Protein vs Fiber Debate
Q: Is it true that any exercise below 45 minutes isn't as effective?
No, any exercise is beneficial; effectiveness depends more on workout quality than duration.
56 | Q&A: Fasted Workouts, Appetite Management, and the Protein vs Fiber Debate
Q: What should I do if I'm constantly hungry, even though I'm eating 'healthy'?
Feeling constantly hungry could indicate not eating enough nutrient-dense foods; adjusting food choices could help increase satiety.
