When you first begin Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, you may not understand what exactly a match, rolling, or sparring is. What is the difference? How do you start? How hard should you go? It seems simple enough, but there are a few nuances that will help you g... more
The bottom line is that you should train both Gi and No Gi--if you can. There are advantages and disadvantages that come with each style, and each will make you a better grappler. For the most part, you shouldn’t commit yourself entirely to one style... more

Loving this podcast, wish I’d found it when it was active. Come back please!
Very helpful and interesting!
Loved listening to this. Has a great personality while explaining things. He is relaxed, understanding and thinks about the bigger picture of what someone new to BJJ doesn’t know.
Came across this podcast and thought I’d give a try .. I immediately wished I would have came across the information a lot sooner in my Jiu-Jitsu journey could have saved myself quite a few hard lessons.. excellent information and presented well . Highly recommend
I just (re)started BJJ and I’m benefitting from the information in this podcast. Usually, you just get thrown into training and you are expected to learn BJJ culture by osmosis, which inevitably ends up in mistakes.
I’d like to see the podcast start to address meta-principles of skills, I.e. not necessarily specific techniques but things like “two on one” to outmuscle and “your first attempt probably won’t work” and “staying heavy on the opponent.” Just suggestions. Keep up the good work.
