  • So knowledgeable!

I am so happy I found this podcast. As a 31 year old mum of two, who has recently been diagnosed with ADHD and PMDD, I have been scouring every media channel to better understand my diagnosis and ways of easing my symptoms. The episode on PMDD was so informative and explained what I experience so perfectly. I actually sent it to my partner so he can better understand why I am a completely different human around that time of the month! Thank you ♥️

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

47 - How We're Talking About Herpes in 2026
Q: What are the main diagnostic considerations for herpes and why isn't it always included in routine STI screenings?
She notes that herpes can be present without noticeable symptoms, and diagnosis often relies on swabs (PCR) when lesions are present. Blood tests take 6–12 months to show antibodies after exposure, making routine screening less reliable for acute infections, which is why HSV isn't typically included in standard STI panels.
47 - How We're Talking About Herpes in 2026
Q: How did Jessie come to specialize in herpes and sexual health, and should we call it herpes?
Jessie explains that personal experience with pelvic pain and herpes, combined with years in clinical practice focused on sexual and vaginal health, motivated her passion for improving care. She emphasizes the importance of reframing herpes as a manageable condition, not a moral failing, and discusses how her work aims to fill gaps in understanding and support for patients.
45 - Understand the "Endometriosis Brain" with Neuroscience Researcher, Renee Grandi
Q: What are practical steps for someone dealing with Endometriosis Brain?
Adopt a multifaceted plan that balances hormones and detoxification, improves sleep, supports mental health, and uses brain-targeted nutraceuticals and lifestyle interventions to reduce neuroinflammation and improve brain resilience.
45 - Understand the "Endometriosis Brain" with Neuroscience Researcher, Renee Grandi
Q: What do you mean by the term Endometriosis Brain?
It describes how pelvic inflammation and chronic pain in endometriosis lead to changes in brain structure and function, affecting pain processing, emotion, attention, and memory, and potentially maintaining pain even after lesions are removed.
46 - IBS, It's Not All In Your Head - But Your Brain Has A LOT To Do With It
Q: Is Nerva suitable for people with endometriosis or pelvic health concerns?
The program is described as low-risk and can be appropriate for endometriosis with gut symptoms; future research aims to specifically validate effectiveness in endometriosis with co-occurring IBS, while current language and education are tailored to be more inclusive of pelvic health considerations.
