I met Jeff a few years back when I was invited to come over to his house to hot lap our R/C cars on his home track in his back yard in Lester, IOWA. We had a great time that day. Now years later the track is gone but this fantastic Podcast is so wonderful to listen to. Thank you for all the great episodes and I look forward to many more🏁. Jeffery A Huebner Sioux Falls, SD.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Max Mittry
Q: What is your current race setup and how do you manage a small team?
He describes a lean operation with his dad handling the financials and tech, sometimes Justin or Hunter helping, but largely he and his dad share responsibilities and rely on phone baselines and on-track feedback to tune the car.
Max Mittry
Q: What was the biggest challenge you faced last year and how did you adapt?
He logged about 55 sprint car races in the year, managed mostly on his own with minimal crew, and emphasized learning car setup and racecraft while dealing with a health scare that kept him off the road for a year.
Max Mittry
Q: What age did you start racing and how did you progress into sprint cars?
Max explains he started racing at age four, paused due to fear, then returned around age seven or eight and gradually progressed into outlaw carts before moving to sprint cars after a deal with his dad.
Austin Wood
Q: Tell us about how you got started in racing and the steps that led you to sprint cars.
I started in California in quarter midgets around age four or five, moved up to micros and then sprint cars as I got a bit older, with my dad and family supporting every step and guiding me through the age restrictions.
Kasey Scholten
Q: So just to start, Kasey, where, how did you get started?
Kasey started about two years ago when Chad was racing with his daughter; they decided to try it, got their own cart, and began racing points at various tracks, quickly finding success.
