Gravel Cycling Podcast by Meme Account Admin @holyspiritofgravel. Cycling discourse from a satire based gravel-centric perspective. No authority, vaguely above average fitness, biased, and only somewhat informed. Much like a gravel privateer--a failed American cycling podcast pivoting to a less competitive niche / subculture. • Nailing it

Strikes the perfect balance of fun-poking and insightful observations of current gravel culture. Like an auditory longform explosion of the memes from their Instagram. I hope these two keep riffing for a long time.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Hannah Shell - Beyond the Privateer Chronicles ep 3
Q: Do you think Gravel should be in the Olympics?
It's a controversial topic, with some traditional cyclists viewing gravel as less legitimate, though I believe it's becoming increasingly respected.
Hannah Shell - Beyond the Privateer Chronicles ep 3
Q: What are your plans for next year?
I'm hoping to focus on more Gravel Earth events and potentially apply for the Lifetime Grand Prix again, but if not, I want to travel more for gravel races.
Paul Sandmann - Beyond the Privateer Chronicles ep 1
Q: Do you call yourself a pro cyclist?
I wouldn't say so. I'm not a full professional yet, but I've had more time to train before Unbound, which has helped me improve.
Paul Sandmann - Beyond the Privateer Chronicles ep 1
Q: Were you happy with your result at Unbound?
I wasn't too happy about the result actually, to give a bit of a back story. Last year was my first year at Unbound, and I got, I think it was 23rd place, but this year I expected to do better with more training time, but ended up in 38th place because the field has gotten so much better.
