I heard about the show through History of the Germans.
Started at the beginning and am about 8 episodes in. Like the deep history, the narrative style and the banter.
Like how you provide some of the fanciful stories in depth so we hear what ancient sources say, then step back and evaluate the claims.

A Meticulous March through the history of Venice from the very beginning with lots of little jokes and parallels to the present to keep listeners engaged. I am continually in awe of how much research goes into this.
Entertaining, informative, and free of annoying music and sound effects so perfect for night time listening. It’s the perfect backdrop to a visit to Venice! I’m only docking a star because one of the hosts consistently mispronounces some of the words and it’s a bit distracting (it’s FRIULI, not Froo-illy) but this is a minor gripe.
This is what a history podcast should be: well-written, intelligent
and thoughtful with I particularly appreciate the way in which it interrogates its sources. Well done!
