What a gem of a podcast.
History of Venice, please, no English history
I found this podcast while preparing for a trip to Venice. While I couldn’t finish it before I left, it served as a wonderful primer and gave me a deeper appreciation for the place and people who made the city/region what it is today.
Now that I’m back, I will continue listening. The hosts provide so much history and context, with an enjoyable banter - and they manage not to step all over each other. An excellent listen.
I heard about the show through History of the Germans.
Started at the beginning and am about 8 episodes in. Like the deep history, the narrative style and the banter.
Like how you provide some of the fanciful stories in depth so we hear what ancient sources say, then step back and evaluate the claims.
