  • Stop shouting

Would like to get the opinions of the guests and not the presenters . Shouty screechy interrupting and the cutting guests off quickly as they only give them short amount of time . They Ciara and Shane then just argue with each other . Two too many egos here

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Principals call for an urgent overhaul of CAO System
Q: So Paul, what is it that you would hope to see changed with the way the CAO works?
Paul outlines a shift to a student-centered approach, reducing the number of subjects counted for points, possibly introducing course-relative bonus points, and increasing transparency about available places and how points are allocated, to reduce pressure and elitism while preserving essential skill standards.
Helping you to understand food labels
Q: Sarah, what's the difference between 'use by' and 'best before' labels?
The 'use by' date is a safety indicator and foods with this label should not be consumed after that date, especially high-risk items like meat or fish. The 'best before' date relates to quality; foods may be safe to eat after that date but quality may decline, so you should assess appearance, smell, and taste.
How is the quality of our bathing water now?
Q: Hang on Jenny, just so I understand the way that infrastructure works. So that the sewage system at a certain point, if there is enough in the way of groundwater swelling underneath, it then dumps into storm drains and goes straight out to sea?
Yes, that is the general mechanism: systems are designed to spill during heavy rain as a safety measure, but ongoing upgrades aim to reduce such spills and protect water quality.
How is the quality of our bathing water now?
Q: How do you mean sewage overflow? What does that mean?
It means that during heavy rainfall the drainage network can overflow and discharge mix of wastewater and stormwater, rather than backing up into houses, prompting corrective work by the authorities.
How is the quality of our bathing water now?
Q: And what's causing that?
Heavy rainfall leads to overwhelmed sewage overflow infrastructure, causing occasional spills that affect bathing water quality, especially in Dún Laoghaire where upgrades are ongoing.
