  • Stop shouting

Would like to get the opinions of the guests and not the presenters . Shouty screechy interrupting and the cutting guests off quickly as they only give them short amount of time . They Ciara and Shane then just argue with each other . Two too many egos here

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Big birthday plans at Dublin Zoo this bank holiday
Q: So as I understand it, you're responsible primarily for sea lions and red pandas. Could you explain how the birthday celebrations will work for them?
The sea lions will be treated with their favorite fish and the celebrations will include activities like face painting, birthday cards, party hats, live music, and a party hat parade for the visitors, while the red pandas will receive panda cake as part of their daily food and maintain their own space in the trees, with staff ensuring their comfort and choice.
The dos and don'ts when putting food in your brown bin
Q: What are the common mistakes people make with the brown bin and what should go in it?
The main issues are using non-compostable liners or bags that contain plastic, not using 100% compostable liners, and not knowing what can be placed in the brown bin, which includes raw or cooked meat, fish, dairy, eggshells, tea bags, and coffee grounds.
Sharp energy price rises from Electric Ireland
Q: What does this mean for autumn and winter energy prices in Ireland?
The guest explains that price increases will persist due to components like wholesale gas prices and grid charges, while renewables can help soften costs but the grid and market structure must evolve, making the near-term outlook mixed but potentially stabilizing if Middle East tensions ease and offshore wind development accelerates.
Encouraging teens to get summer job!
Q: Julie, is it just too complicated and difficult to hire young part-time staff?
Julie explains that while there are additional considerations for hiring teens, it is not overwhelmingly difficult; the main challenges are regulatory compliance, rostering limits, and ensuring safe work conditions, with practical examples from the hospitality sector.
Wrens in Scotland growing twice the size of regular birds!
Q: Now, before I let you go, I want your view on the news that Google wants to breed and spread 32 million sterile male mosquitoes and release them into California and Florida to reduce the threat of diseases like Zika and West Nile.
The approach has precedent; sterile males released to mate with wild females can prevent eggs from hatching, but there are uncertainties about long-term effectiveness, ecological impacts, and how well it would translate outside controlled settings.
