Griffin keeps a full gear list at griffinhammond.com/gear – but 2022 brought some workflow changes, so it’s time to review and update his inventory. Plus, Nick decides to buy a new electric vehicle, and picks it up the very same day!
Griffin didn’t buy the Insta360 Link 4K Webcam because it has a gimbal. But it turns out, auto-tracking movement is its most useful feature. Even better, the image quality outperforms the similarly priced 4K Opal C1 ($300), which is marketed as “The ... more
Nick has been writing prompts for AI images on Midjourney v4. Griffin’s been playing with DiffusionBee on Mac. Our faces may render horrifically in AI, but for many other use cases, the results are uncanny, with plenty of rapidly arriving ethical and... more
Griffin shares his crazy experience filming Election Night in America—how much travel, expense and work hours go into building maybe 5 minutes of a television show. He earned a “Director of Photography” credit on Showtime, and safely navigated around... more
The U.S. State Department has invited Griffin to teach DIY documentary filmmaking in Zimbabwe—should he do it? Nick says yes.
We apologize for the delayed uploads. It’s been a rough month—Griffin’s mom Carol died mid-October, and he wrote this tribu... more
Griffin asks for your input: Should he activate YouTube memberships, the paid tiers that allow creators to offer additional value alongside their existing, free channel?

Griffin calls it a “Robo Camera.” It’s the Feelworld NDI20X, and it’s $6,244 cheaper than the pan-tilt-zoom (PTZ) camera used at his former job (Panasonic AW-UE100). Nick helps Griffin set up his network to remote control this 1080p camera over ether... more
Griffin attempts to use Canon C300s for livestreaming, but runs into two major HDMI issues. Plus, Nick needs lighting for his new office, and Griffin plays with tally lights on the Blackmagic Studio Camera 4K Pro.
Great show!
It’s mind-blowing how much information they have in these podcasts. It’s mostly technical but that’s always helpful. Keep up the good work!
Started from the beginning and gaining so much valuble information! Thanks Griffin and Nick for doing what you do!
Sampled an episode and was disappointed to be honest. The hosts started off discussing the upcoming Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 4K, plus a new Vimeo app for MacOS. Unfortunately, neither of them seemed to know much about either topic ... certainly less than one could glean from marketing material.
I struggled on for a while, waiting for startling expertise or insights on any subject, but eventually got annoyed.
Loving this podcast. Have been following Griffin since Indie mogul and this is my favorite content. Great balance between topics and great energy between both Griffin and Nick. Keep on killing it.
Love the show. I look forward to it every week. Thanks guys.

You guys are so great! I’ve been following Griffin since indie mogul and it’s always a pleasure to see his work! This podcast is very helpful and with Nick added to the mix gives it load more fun!
Nick and Griffin are doing a great job in sharing their experience and answering questions. You'll get a good sense of what it means to be a filmmaker if you follow this weekly podcast but high chances are Griffin will make you feel jealous about talking about his new gears :)
Original and Insightfully sardonic at times, almost like a mini warblers scatting riffs of experience, techniques, and misadventure - “Orange Man” and “Yellow Guy” (a call back to their White Balance video) have a relationship of friendship and make the listener feel like he’s meeting with equals rather than instructors. A plutocracy of profound producers sitting ‘round and having a dialogue with their listeners about matters of practicality as opposed to those bombastic pontifications and promu... more
Just so easy to listen to. Great info, nice format and just about the right length in time. Duplicated on YouTube and one of my favourites... well done guys. Keep it up!
You guys are GREAT! I am SUPER Picky when it comes to listening to podcasts, but you guys are ALWAYS top of my list! Always interesting content, at any level. I've been traveling recently (up to 8 hours a day driving) and I've been just re-listening to old episodes! Keep up the amazing work!
Griffin and Nick have done it! This podcast really breaks down the video industry and is great to listen to each week! I highly suggest you have a listen!
Enjoyable from the insightful information through to the comical two way banter. Bravo.
Hammond and Bodmer go out of their way to be helpful during each second of their podcast. Every film tip or (startup) business advice is told with personal experience, honesty and a genuine passion to create. If you're an indie filmmaker, you HAVE to listen to this podcast.
