  • Humorous and informative

Or more like hilarious and indispensable at times... If you want to learn something new, or better yet, if you want to take part in undoing some of the insanity of the “war in drugs” and unraveling some of the blatant, bold-faced lies that brought about this very damaging prohibition still very much in effect most places

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Cannabis beverage branding and retail, with James Stephens of Sinful
Q: What should people know about cannabis beverages in general?
James explains that cannabis beverages often use emulsions to achieve fast onset and mask cannabis taste, enabling a more traditional beverage experience, and that consumers should understand the dose and how it translates to effects, with emphasis on responsible use and gradual dosing.
The new PBS documentary, American Hemp Farmer, with filmmaker and hemp advocate Doug Fine
Q: What is the central message you hope audiences take away about hemp and regenerative living?
Fine emphasizes optimism, practical steps toward food security via regenerative living, and the idea that if his family can do it, others can too, with an emphasis on food, fiber, and non-psychoactive cannabinoids rather than a CBD-only focus.
The new PBS documentary, American Hemp Farmer, with filmmaker and hemp advocate Doug Fine
Q: Is this PBS documentary available to viewers nationwide and when did it premiere?
The film premieres on PBS starting March 14, with streaming options on the PBS app and PBS.org for viewers across the US, ensuring accessibility beyond traditional broadcast schedules.
The new PBS documentary, American Hemp Farmer, with filmmaker and hemp advocate Doug Fine
Q: Why did you choose to expand your book, American Hemp Farmer, into an instructional and biographic documentary film?
Doug Fine explains that turning the book into a PBS documentary allowed a broader audience to access practical farming methods and regenerative living concepts, with a focus on real-world application rather than theory, and the timing aligned with PBS's willingness to promote independent documentaries.
The complexities of retail cannabis in Washington State with Kevin Heriderich, co-owner of the House of Cannabis retail chain
Q: What regulatory challenges stand out most in daily operations, and how do you stay compliant while remaining profitable?
Frequent rule changes and inconsistent enforcement across towns create a moving target for compliance; signs, permits, and banking-related issues require constant attention and sometimes costly misalignments with local officers.
