  • Humorous and informative

Or more like hilarious and indispensable at times... If you want to learn something new, or better yet, if you want to take part in undoing some of the insanity of the “war in drugs” and unraveling some of the blatant, bold-faced lies that brought about this very damaging prohibition still very much in effect most places

Angel Thrasher Weaver on the fight to administer cannabis medicine to her son Dylan and her tragic loss
Q: Angel, can you walk us through the events that led to Dylan's final hospitalization and what you experienced as his mother during that time?
During Dylan's final hospitalization there were a series of complications, including infections and a feeding tube situation that escalated into abdominal complications; I witnessed dismissive attitudes and delays in care related to his cannabis treatment, which I believe contributed to a tragic outcome. This time was marked by fear, advocacy, and a relentless fight to ensure he received appropriate care and dignity until the end.
Angel Thrasher Weaver on the fight to administer cannabis medicine to her son Dylan and her tragic loss
Q: To begin, could you tell our listeners about Dylan? Who was he beyond his medical condition?
Dylan was my best friend, my son, the center of my life for 27 years. He was hilarious, witty, a prankster, and deeply loved; his joy extended beyond his medical struggles into every part of our lives.
Press freedom and independent, alternative media with Mark Taylor Canfield
Q: What can everyday citizens do to support press freedom and protect journalists in their communities?
Support independent media, educate others about press freedom, donate to non-profit journalism, and actively seek diverse sources to counteract propaganda; local engagement and voting are also emphasized to bolster a healthier media landscape.
Press freedom and independent, alternative media with Mark Taylor Canfield
Q: On that subject, how have surveillance technologies and digital tracking affected journalists' ability to safely do their work, and what does the future look like?
Surveillance and data collection create a pervasive risk environment for journalists, with AI and state-level monitoring intensifying pressures to self-censor; the path forward involves continued advocacy for privacy protections, and embracing adaptable reporting methods and safe access practices.
The Victoria Cannabis Buyers Club’s years-long fight for survival, featuring Ted Smith
Q: Ted, you've been targeted by the government for some time and still go on. What kind of survival tactics do you utilize in your activist toolkit to get through this?
Ted emphasizes a broad network of supporters, leveraging local government allies like the mayor, maintaining a resilient activist mindset, and keeping a patient-centered mission at the core to endure legal and financial pressures.
