  • Becoming less of podcast

Over the last year the move to video has made listening to podcast less valuable and less pleasant. I am not sitting around watching this I listen to podcast on my commute so not sure it worth continuing to subscribe

  • Bad Info

I am listening to their intro to gunfire and they don’t understand banging food pans and using a cap pistol are the same “baby steps “ to starting to introduce sudden, sharp sounds. The reason to introduce gun sounds while eating is to pair the sound with a pleasurable, dopamine releasing activity which, in this case, is eating. Of course you should stand far away when first introducing the sound.

  • Hydration and recovery with Furvor - GDIY

Hey Nick, I really enjoyed your interview with Kevin and discussion about proper hydration including the supplement like Furvor that includes the nutrients like electrolytes and protein to maintain stamina for hard working bird dogs. This might be the answer for those reluctant to feed their dogs before a hunt.

It was also refreshing to hear from another Brittany owner plus a native Marylander like myself! Keep them coming!

  • Impressed

I have just gotten my 3rd bird dog, a Deutsch Drahthaar, and was turned onto this podcast by a new friend who was a former guest on the show. It has not only been informative, but also inspiring. I’ve listened to other gun dog related podcasts and GDIY stands glaringly above them both in quality of dialogue and staying on point in any given episode. I joined the Patreon page and am full send with ears wide open as I begin to train my Draht who will be indescribably better off for my time spent l... more

Positive punishment happens after the dog does not respond to a 'woah' command, and pressure is applied to get them to comply, which is more about communication than merely punishment.

The e-collar is seen as valuable because it allows for precise and subtle training adjustments without requiring physical force, making it essential for certain dog owners to maintain a harmonious living environment with their pets.
