  • Cmon guys

Had to stop listening, even though this was one of my favorite podcasts and I looked forward to listening all off season while walking the dogs. Consistently spot dropping, encouraging crowding, and it’s only getting worse. One episode, Tyler Webster all but gave GPS coordinates on where to hunt, won’t harm him at all since he’s got a lot of private land opportunities. However, concentrating/encouraging everyone else to “hot spots” is shameful. If you wanna be told exactly where to hunt without ... more

  • Counting down the days to the opening hunt Podcast!

Great podcast! Talks about all things upland hunting! The anticipation is building up can’t wait for the podcast review of the first hunt of the season. I’ve became addicted to the game of upland, got my first GSP last season a 6 year old girl. We spent HALF the season hunting Montana (we got her late October). Now in idaho and we’re gonna hit the ground running shooting for all 9 native species of Idaho this season plus with some bonus California quail. Surprisingly the area withholds a great p... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

The Truth About Rattlesnake Bites in Bird Dogs
Q: How should a hunter prepare their dog before entering snake country?
Aversion training is the main field preparation, teaching the dog to identify and avoid snakes using live snakes; otherwise there is limited in-field preparation beyond getting to a clinic with antivenom and having a printed guidance sheet.
Sporting Dog Nutrition & Medicine
Q: What is CHAMP and why was it created?
CHAMP (Canine Healthy Aging and Mobility Program) is funded by Nestle Purina and Cornell to improve mobility and quality of life for dogs at multiple life stages, from puppy through retirement, using diagnostics, imaging, nutrition, and exercise strategies.
Dog Trainer Q&A
Q: When should I introduce an e-caller?
Only after foundation work is established and the dog understands the basics; use it as an insurance policy and not as a training crutch, and start only when the dog is ready and show progress in the basics.
Dog Trainer Q&A
Q: Day one, what age should we start training?
Start training immediately on day one; set routines, boundaries, and consistent exposure so the dog understands the end goal and develops a steady foundation from the start.
Hank Hunt #6
Q: What does Hank Hunt No. 6 look like and who's invited?
It's at Browns Lodge & Hunting Ranch in South Dakota, runs mid-December, with five couples plus the organizers; there are options for the couples to participate and some flexibility on attendees.
