They should see if they can get Ron Popeil or the Sham Wow guy on as guests at this point.

Maybe record some ad copy for the Medicus Swing Trainer.

  • No Shaft Questions

Apparently they don’t like answering shaft questions, but do enjoy mindlessly babbling about their own golf shafts they got for free.

  • Great content, blech language

This podcast has continued to be a great source of interesting insights into both tour-level gear and fitting, as well as how it translates for the everyday Jane & Joe weekend golfer. But Mr Wunder, please, I beseech thee, drop your F-bomb habit. It’s become nearly unlistenable. A shame really, since your experience and knowledge with both pga tour and LIV players is a real asset.

Scottie Scheffler doesn’t perform well in the Ryder Cup so you think he shouldn’t be ranked number one in the world and John Rahm should be??? Golf is a first and foremost an individual sport outside of the Ryder cup, and the team aspect in LIV events. It is crazy that you would downgrade Scottie based on the team performances and not his individual match on Saturday. He hands down beats Rahm like he did in the majors ... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Your questions ANSWERED | Mallet putters, overrated trends, and more
Q: How long does on-course testing take to know if a club is good or bad?
It isn't fixed to a single round or shot; you need multiple rounds and varied conditions to assess consistency and how the club performs in real play.
Your questions ANSWERED | Mallet putters, overrated trends, and more
Q: What is the most overrated trend in fitting right now?
The overemphasis on in-room measurements without validating on-course performance; fitters should move beyond just numbers and ensure testing occurs in real golf scenarios.
Your questions ANSWERED | Mallet putters, overrated trends, and more
Q: What is your opinion on robot testing golf clubs?
Robot testing is useful for understanding tolerances and performance at controlled speeds, but it cannot capture the variability of real human swings; thus on-course testing is essential to validate any claims.
What working on a PGA Tour gear truck is actually like with Johnny Thompson from Callaway
Q: What makes fitting tour players different from fitting regular consumers?
Fitting tour players centers on feel, consistency, and the ability to quickly dial in a few optimal options; players rely on feel and direct feedback rather than obsessing over small numerical shaft specs, so testers focus on practical performance and repeatability.
Srixon's Director of Tour Operations Michael Jolly talks how they incorporate Tour feedback into their iron design, adjusting driver models for their top staffers
Q: How many driver models do you try to cover the five staffers you mentioned?
We use three to four core driver models that can accommodate different swing profiles, with refinements within those lines to suit individual players.
