  • I love you guys, but

I started from the beginning, and I’m only in the mid 2022 episodes but I feel like we’ve lost the plot a bit. You guys have empowered my so much and given me so much invaluable knowledge, but I’m not really sure what happened to the investing teachings. I feel like I’ve kind of plateaued with what I’ve learned about investing and I’d really like to learn more from you guys. Thank you!

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

My Honest FIRE Q&A: Money, Work & Wealth After Retirement
Q: How has your FIRE changed with the new 30% minimum capital gains tax in Australia?
Australian policy changes illustrate how asset taxation can shift retirement planning; she notes that a 30% minimum tax on asset sales could raise the effective tax burden and influence long-term investment decisions, with implications for other countries considering similar rules.
My Honest FIRE Q&A: Money, Work & Wealth After Retirement
Q: What is your investing order of operations and which accounts do you fund first?
Her system prioritizes stability and automation: a steady weekly salary funds personal and business accounts, with money allocated into a dedicated spending, bills, and joint home/travel fund, and an auto-invest portfolio that auto-invests the chosen core investments; complexity comes from personal structures rather than investment choices.
My Honest FIRE Q&A: Money, Work & Wealth After Retirement
Q: Are you really retired if you still work?
Retirement in FIRE terms means financial independence rather than stopping work entirely; she continues to work because she enjoys it and would still be financially comfortable if she stopped, illustrating a work-optional approach rather than total withdrawal.
My Honest FIRE Q&A: Money, Work & Wealth After Retirement
Q: Do you still take a salary from FTI, or do you live solely off your share portfolio? How does it work?
I absolutely still take a salary from FTI, and I view investments as a cushion and growth engine; if everything disappeared, I could still maintain my lifestyle on investments, but I continue to draw a salary to support ongoing operations and life plans.
Investing Tips from a Successful Angel Investor | Jaclyn Johnson
Q: How do you decide how much to invest when you're just starting?
Start with smaller checks (SPVs) to practice diligencing and to learn the process, then gradually scale as you gain confidence and insight into the founders and markets.
