  • I'm giving 5 stars for Fevzi but that Eddie Nestor is such a pain in the arse that I nearly cancelled this podcast.

I know he's not on every podcast, thank goodness, but I want to hear about technology, not about some pumped up DJ's ideas on the future of the human race.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

1st June 2026 - Discussing using AI for shopping on BBC Essex
Q: What should consumers watch out for when using AI in shopping?
They should be mindful of potential biases, sponsor or incentive-driven recommendations, and the possibility that AI might promote products for which advertisers pay, so it's important to cross-check with two different AIs and review retailer credibility.
1st June 2026 - Discussing using AI for shopping on BBC Essex
Q: But have you ever used AI to help with your shopping?
Yes, it can be useful to shortlist products and save time, but it's essential to remain critical and verify details like retailer reliability and warranty, rather than letting the AI make the final decision.
15th June 2026 - Discussing the UK Under 16 Social Media Ban on LBC
Q: How might age verification work without compromising privacy?
Age verification could use token-based systems where a trusted provider confirms age and issues a non-identifying token to sites, but there are concerns about how such data is stored, who can access it, and the risk of credential and document leakage.
15th June 2026 - Discussing the UK Under 16 Social Media Ban on LBC
Q: What can we learn from Australia's experience with teen social media bans?
Australia shows that a ban does not completely stop under-16s from using social media; it changes behavior and highlights the challenge of enforcing across platforms while raising questions about whether safety improvements come from design changes or outright restrictions.
15th May 2026 - Weekly Tech News & Reviews on LBC
Q: What do you see as the core regulatory challenge given the rapid evolution of technology and AI.
Regulation struggles to keep pace with fast-changing products; even effective regulators may be outmatched as offerings evolve, and the speaker argues that the fundamental issue is reforming business models that maximize screen time rather than simply tweaking edge cases.
