Would I say that Newlydeads has a modern sensibility that really speaks to an enlightened audience? Not really. Would I say that it has several exposed breasts and someone running neck first into a two person wood saw? Yes. Matt and Tristan talk abou... more
Severed ties was originally called "Army". Which is the kind of pun that works way better once you've already seen the movie. So Severed Ties it became. The specific ties being severed are limbs. They then grow back with a magic serum. Plus, they're ... more
Virus is a movie directed by an FX legend. Directing...maybe not so much. Matt and Tristan talk Virus.
When it comes to weird Christian themed monster movies featuring Billy Zane and a guy from Wings, it just doesn't get much better than this. Matt and Tristan talk Demon Knight.

Amid a sea of mediocre excuses for horror podcasts, this one stands out as exceptional! Tristan & Matt present thoughtful commentary and insights into a cornucopia of offbeat films with zero pretensions and ample amounts of laidback humor to entertain the listener while educating them. They also manage to perfectly dismantle, steam, fold and press The Mangler with pinpoint precision! Kudos to both of you! However, Matt really needs to watch Silence of the Lambs! The best horror movie podcast out there, the fact that they Matt and Tristan both have a sense of humor, a love for cheap horror, and all around great personalities, really makes this podcast untouchable by any other.
I love the fact that they go so far into detail and catch stuff that I didn’t and at the same time can still make It all interesting and not get off topic and get boring. They start from the start and finish at the end and don’t throw out spoilers if it’s for a movie you’ve never... more
I have an hour and a half commute to work, and this podcast makes it easier. I still own most of these movies on vhs, or I rented them from video safari in the early 90s...it’s fun to hear random factoids and other folks views on the crappy flicks I love.
I love this podcast! Reminds me of the good ole days, rounding up the boys and searching the video store for that perfectly crappy move to rent, then settling in with pizza and popcorn for a night of laughs. These fellas review classic horror movies and deconstruct them into hilarious detail, which enhances my enjoyment of the movies even more, compelling me to rewatch them and pick up on all the things that they pointed out. Defintely worth listening to if you're into schlock.
If you miss the guys at the video store, these guys definitely help fill that void. Fun podcast with fun hosts.
