If you have listened to this podcast you actually know Emily has never once said free birth or die. I’m not here to defend FBS or whatever cause I don’t really care that much, but seriously it’s bonkers to think that they have ever said FREEbirth or die. They have repeatedly said go the hospital in an emergency, Emily even went to the hospital in her first birth because she thought something wA wrong and then discharged herself when it was confirmed she wasn’t. More than anything get the facts s... more
Listening to the birth certificate episode, and the guest says that “the IRS is based on a foreign country, Puerto”. Girlfriend, Puerto Rico IS the US, it’s a territory! They pay taxes, just have no representation.

I and many other students shared that the school felt more like a scam to get out thousands of dollars than an actually training. I’ve come to realize Yolande and Emily are just plain money hungry. It’s unfortunate. I just hope others will think twice before signing up to any of their programs. They are mindless rambling... more
This podcast is very helpful for understanding how you will be treated in the medical system. But there is also a “free birth or die” sentiment that is super harmful. There should be a more rounded approach for women to actually understand when to seek medical care because birth is not always a medical event, but sometimes it is! Being that birthing in the system whether in a hospital or w/ licensed midwife is what mainstream culture protects, projects, encourages: anyone who goes against that will be villainized at some point. I had my first birth under the care of midwives. I was “low risk” in every way, even still, they wouldn’t let me get in my birthing pool and I ended up tearing when one midwife stuck her hand inside of me to “help baby”. Maybe if I hadve been in the water like they lead me to believe before hand t... more
