Brent writes a novel, and the Soul Squad struggles to stroke his ego. This was a fun episode to talk about, despite it being Brent-centric.

Good podcast, but I have to disagree with what you guys said in the first episode. Soulmates do exist. But they’re not found; they’re made.
Just think about it.
WOW this is Great!!!!!!!
I mean I think 💭 they could be happier still not better than the show tho
I just finished the show and this is such a great way to unpack the magic of all four seasons. I appreciate that the hosts have great eyes for small, meaningful details. Their explanations, and speculations, are excellent. Thanks, guys!
The Netflix show is like a beginner’s guide to philosophy, ethics, and morality. This podcast is like an intermediary guide. The actual text are basically boring books which after the tv show + this podcast, suddenly seem so much more interesting after.
Basic philosophical ideas are often hard enough to get people to wrap their heads around. On the surface moral philosophy and ethics should seem easy, but are strangely difficult to describe and can be somewhat depressing to think about.

I love the way that you speak about each episode, it’s amazing!
Good but the show’s WAY better. :T
I think the title says it all: so dry and boring
Although I’m sad it’s over, I have very much enjoyed listening to this podcast. I rewatched and listened and caught up with season 4 a month ago. The hosts have great insight and are funny. This is a podcast I could listen to again with a rewatch of the show! Enjoy!
I love the good place and really wanted to love this podcast...but I just couldn’t. It felt like the hosts didn’t even like the show. I listened to three episodes hoping it would get better but over and over I just felt like they were attacking the show.
:)
I’m 48, my kid is 14 and my mom is, let’s say, over 70. All of us love the show and podcast. Keep it up. Sad that season 4 is the last but so glad you aren’t jumping the shark!
Vivienne and Jason put out such a phenomenal podcast! I love their recaps and deep dives into the characters and their motivations and the plot and deeper meanings. But even more I love when they pull out Chidi’s chalkboard and give me a fun lesson in philosophy. 😀 Their chemistry together is so palpable just through their conversation and they keep things fun and moving even when discussing some heavy stuff. If you like The Good Place, you’ll love this pod!!!
I really love how deep they dive into the philosophy. And I especially like that they point out all the Friends references. I missed the subtle ones.
This podcast is a wonderful companion to any viewer of The Good Place. The podcasters always catch things I miss and the analysis is so smart and well put together. 5 stars!!
