  • My fertility best friends

I began listening to FFF when my husband and I first started our TTC journey over 2 years ago. At first, I binged every single episode. Then, I anxiously awaited and played every new one as soon as it was released. Though we still haven’t conceived, and plan to move on to IVF within the next year, my husband and I have both made SO many lifestyle improvements thanks to the tips I’ve learned in the pod. If it weren’t for Caitlan and Sophia’s raw, honest (but tenderly-delivered) messages, I wouldn... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Managing Fibroids To Get You Pregnant with Dr. Valenson
Q: What are the main treatment options for fibroids when fertility is a goal?
Options range from non-surgical approaches like uterine fibroid embolization to hysterectomy or myomectomy, with emphasis on patient-specific factors such as fibroid size, location, number, and the patient's fertility goals. The discussion stresses avoiding hysterectomy as a first-line option when fertility is desired, and considering embolization or targeted myomectomies where appropriate.
Reverse Dieting For Fertility with Stone Jamison
Q: What exactly is reverse dieting and how is it different from simply returning to a previous eating pattern?
Reverse dieting is a deliberate, staged increase in calories (often 100-200 per week or every couple of weeks) with close monitoring of weight, hormones, and well-being, to restore a higher metabolic ceiling after chronic dieting, rather than blasting back to prior restrictive patterns that may trigger rapid weight regain or worsen metabolic health.
The Science Behind Egg Quality, Hormonal Shifts and Fertility Myths
Q: How do I communicate my health issues to a doctor in a way that gets me heard?
Prepare before the visit by organizing your symptoms, scheduling the right type of appointment, and coming with a clear outline of what you need to discuss.
The Science Behind Egg Quality, Hormonal Shifts and Fertility Myths
Q: What are the top mistakes people make when communicating health issues to their doctors?
The first mistake is waiting until their annual exam to bring up specific concerns, which often leads to rushed appointments where they cannot effectively communicate their issues.
Common Prescribed Meds to Take and Avoid While TTC With Dr. Katie Wood
Q: If somebody were listening to this and they're excited about starting to try to conceive soon, but they're on birth control, what would you tell them about how the birth control is impacting their body?
You want to stop birth control three months before you start trying to allow your cycle to regulate without adding that extra pressure on your body.
