  • Long time listener won’t listen again.

I know this isn’t a primary thing for mick anymore but I will not listen to another podcast appearance or anything he does again. I’m listening to his ask anything from 9/29/23 where he can’t stop shoveling food down his throat and it may be the worst audio I have suffered through. He self admits how disrespectful it is to be doing it, but just continues. I am unsubscribing and you’re out of my top 10 Mick. The lip smacking (nasty to begin with), wrinkling of your wrapper and the sound of your d... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Episode 21: Gerald Brisco
Q: You mentioned your early body shop and how you expanded into real estate; what was the biggest risk you took, and what did you learn from it?
The biggest risk was selling core businesses like the Georgia Championship Wrestling stake to fund a large warehouse/real estate push; I learned the hard lesson to focus on what you understand, to actively manage investments, and to avoid overexposure to ventures where you lack expertise.
Episode 21: Gerald Brisco
Q: Welcome, Mr. Brisco—could you share how you first realized you had the entrepreneur gene and what kicked off your diversification in money and assets?
From the start I learned from veterans that saving and investing was essential; I studied economics and finance in college, worked overseas in Australia, and gradually built a diversified portfolio—body shop, real estate, and later investing in wrestling-related ventures—so I could secure steady income beyond wrestling.
Episode 20: The Entrepreneur Learning Tree
Q: What did you have wrong about being a promoter?
The conversation reveals that promoting taught him that you must actively manage people, find the right fit, and be prepared to adapt; it's not about simply writing names on a lineup, but about maximizing each wrestler's strengths and ensuring everyone has a stake in the success.
Episode 10: GCW Owner, Brett Lauderdale
Q: Brett, what was the first thing you did when you stepped off into your own and decided to promote your own show?
The first show was the Nick Gage Invitational in 2015, born from a conversation with Nick in prison, where we built the concept, secured an infrastructure through existing GCW connections, and took responsibility for the show's day-of operations and success.
Episode 7: Spike Dudley
Q: What is the best way to prepare for a potential government shutdown impact on personal finances?
Get debt under control, build a reserve, and consider strategies like mortgage-based debt relief or outside income to weather months of downtime.
