Jacques got involved in The Beatles' story starting from 1972 when he began rewriting the BBC production of The Beatles story and later created a fanzine and hosted radio shows about them.

Jacques first became aware of The Beatles when an EP featuring songs from 'A Hard Day's Night' was gifted to his brother in January 1965, but his true fascination developed after discovering 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' during turmoil in May 1968.
