I love your podcast, Fireside Swift Crew & Guest!
Every day during my morning run I listen to it, and am working myself back in time through the backlog. My favorite parts are the lengthy discussions about urlSession & collections, which are topics most devs encounter early, but do not necessarily have to do a deep dive on.
Looking forward to discussions about more complex topics, like combine, rxSwift, or CoreData, which I can then absorb while excercising.
I enjoy this show a lot. I wish there were chapter marks to let me skip over the segues. Every episode should be as good as the Marc Aupont guest episode.
Amazing podcast. I’m always so happy when a new episode comes out.
Keep it up!
I’ve been hooked! They always cheer me up and keeps a smile on my face. Educational while fun at the same time, which is exactly what i’m looking for.
Steve brings a wealth of knowledge to the table with well thought out explanations that are easy to follow. His segues are always entertaining and I just imagine Steve using long drawn out segues in all is daily conversations. Jordan‘s knowledge of web development is helpful when trying to understand the big picture as it relates to Swift. Side note, I don’t think I would challenge Jordan in any board games, sounds like he would automatically win. Chris’ journey into iOS development is truly ins... more
I’ve only listened to one episode, “PUMPKIN BEER”, and I am a self-taught SwiftUI newbie. But I found this show to be excellent. I’m incredibly impressed with the deep dive into the discussion of exclusionary statements.
I am looking forward to listening more.
As someone considering a change of careers into iOS development it’s very interesting hearing the viewpoints of developers just breaking into the field. With a more experienced iOS developer among them it makes for a very educational back and forth as they share their experiences and learn from eachother. Add to this some humor and a chill, laid back tone and you’ve got yourself this perfect listen for anyone interested in iOS development, especially novices like myself. Thanks again guys for a ... more
The show is great! I’ve used it to help keep me in the mindset as I learn iOS while still doing my day job. Loved the first season and I’m enjoying the second season BUT idk what it really is or who’s mic is doing it but there’s almost like a sniffling sound that is constant in season 2 now. It’s very loud and jarring, especially with headphones. Idk if someone is sniffling into their mic but… stop? Please :) Everything else is FANTASTIC though and absolutely love the show otherwise!

A great listen for any developer or any aspiring developer, from a good bunch of people from different backgrounds. Thanks to all of you for such a great show. I have just accepted an offer for my first iOS developer role to start in the new year. Big thanks to Ben for the interview clothing advice, that’s must of been what convinced them 😂! And a big thanks to Chris for being so open about your career change, it’s nice to hear I wasn’t the only one who took nearly 5 years to make the trans... more
Currently two months into the Sydney lockdown. Fireside Swift is a bright point in a dreary existence. It takes me to a better place where dreams of iOS dev jobs can come true and Brits can live in harmony with Americans.
A little much cruft, but there’re some good nuggets, especially for beginners. The hosts try to be entertaining, but even when they don’t quite succeed at being funny, they more than make up for in attitude and friendliness. After listening to all backisodes, and 10 episodes of the current season, it’s time to bid my fond farewell. Only if I had more time to listen to all podcasts.
The perfect combination of informal and formal. I learn a lot and have fun at the same time. Great song too!
Great people, great content, great for a drive. My husband and I are moving about an hour away from Toronto, and when we drive to/from we always put on Fireside swift for the trip. Now, I find him humming the theme song around the house. Thank you? Haha keep up the great work!
I started listening to Fireside Swift right before the episodes stopped last year so I’m happy to be able to listen again. It helps as I’m trying to learn swift.
I am just starting to learn networking and your chat about URLsession was very educational. It’s nice to listen to this during my evening walk (I spent too much time sitting in front of my Mac). For some reason, having 3 people instead of 2 seems to make the whole podcast much more dynamic. Thanks for a 5 star episode.
