I think the show probably ran its course, although I recognize she’s trying. I’m also starting to realize that she listens to biased news sources which strengthen her views on subjects that are much more nuanced. I never realized this before - I too used to listen to The Daily, but I try to listen to bi-partisan news sources to get more of a bigger picture - like Mosheh News. Also, this last guest’s chef story of a 2 month relationship was very uninteresting.
I’ve been listening to this podcast for over a year, and I really love the discussion that it creates. I think Ali is doing an awesome job at navigating this podcast on her own and bringing on new guests, new topics, etc. But, one thing that is glaringly obvious is her avoidance of using the word “but“… The word “but“ does not negate everything that comes before it, and Ali’s use of the word “and” instead of the word “but“ is very obvious and just annoying. I used to love this podcast — mainly when Roark was cohost and was along for the ride during Erica’s cohosting year but it’s become a shell of anything it was or could be. The Roark years were the best because someone was putting in time and effort into research, guests, and thoughtful questions. It wasn’t a show about Ali, it was a show about dating and you were along for the ride with actual friends — I used to listen on dog walks and while cleaning my place each weekend, they felt like friend... more

The podcast is absolutely unlistenable now that Ali is creating content alone.
I’ve been waiting to see how the podcast would change since Ali asked for feedback. I am not on Reddit and do genuinely want the best for her. The podcast used to be 5 stars and I would recommend listening to the first few years. Since Erica left it has gone downhill- maybe even months before which might be why Erica left. It feels like the podcast is not the priority and the focus is on the Pateron, her relationship, and other work- which is totally fair. I really think she needs a cohost, but ... more
