  • Couple thoughts

I do love the advice on here. I do think the shift to more relationship stuff is helpful. I feel like I’ve listened to most of it and people dating and relationships is two different places to be. So its nice now that being a relationship you are also giving advice on that..cause we evolve at some point hopefully. I listened to the 3 rules of dating episode..and only thing is Thalia, you interject yourself too much in the guest speaking and always bring it back to yourself almost bragging..not e... more

  • Apologizing for men

There’s a general stance in this podcast of being accommodating and tolerant of men’s low effort and/or problematic behavior, which is easy to do in your 20s and 30s when you haven’t yet spent a decade or more in an asymmetrical relationship that’s sucking you dry (and you realize you have no one to blame but yourself and your willingness to do all the emotional labor and accommodation for far too long). Being in a miserable marriage in your 40s and 50s or deciding you need to start over at that... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

243. These Small Moments Make or Break Your Relationship w/ Zach Brittle, LMHC
Q: What can a long-distance couple do to avoid petty conflicts when one partner is traveling and the other is at home?
The guest suggests avoiding talking during travel, then negotiating a time to reconnect when both are available, and using a separate channel for important conversations to prevent escalation. If needed, contract for when and how to address the issue and keep the relationship focused on care rather than conflict.
242. Leaning Into a Slow Burn When You're Used to Intensity & Sparks
Q: Should I keep the door fully closed to protect my peace, or is it possible to have limited casual contact without reopening emotional attachment, and how do you know which choice is actually healthier?
Keep the door fully closed to protect your energy, as limited casual contact with someone you have unresolved feelings for is rarely casual and can lead to ongoing anxiety. Choose the option that aligns with what you want for yourself and which will make you feel less anxious and more secure in the long run.
239. Singles Events, Setups & Lessons From Vetting 800 Men w/ Alli Goldberg
Q: What is positive masculinity?
Positive masculinity is about men who are not afraid to express their emotions or be vulnerable, and who actively seek to engage in meaningful relationships and interactions.
239. Singles Events, Setups & Lessons From Vetting 800 Men w/ Alli Goldberg
Q: What should a guy do if they approach someone and they're not interested?
The men should not just turn around and walk away; instead, they should aim to maintain a friendly demeanor and possibly build a new friendship, even if romantic interest isn't mutual.
241. Dating With Different Cultural Backgrounds w/ Marina Iakovleva
Q: How do I navigate cultural differences in my relationship?
Communication is key. Discuss your cultural backgrounds and how they influence your relationship expectations to find common ground.
