Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Ron William Warns: Entering 2026–2032 Cycle Convergence of Rising Conflict, Surging Commodities
Q: How long do you see this commodity cycle playing out?
The next few years are pivotal, with a rotation expanding beyond precious and industrial metals into energy disruption and security concerns, while climate risks and dollar dynamics reinforce a long, multi-year commodity upcycle that lasts into the late 2020s and beyond.
Ron William Warns: Entering 2026–2032 Cycle Convergence of Rising Conflict, Surging Commodities
Q: You guys do a lot of cycle work and you're talking about this convergence of cycles coming together at the same time. What does this mean when they converge like this?
The convergence heightens the interplay of multiple stressors—macroeconomic, geopolitical, and technological—creating a regime shift that makes volatility expansion and structural changes more likely; this calls for an adaptive investment approach rather than relying on single-cycle forecasts.
Prediction Markets Betting on Doom (Preview)
Q: What sort of odds are you putting on recession risk currently given the oil shock that we've seen so far?
The guest notes that while the shock is alarming, if spikes persist, inflation pressures could keep rates elevated and potentially slow consumption, but near-term effects may be limited if prices stabilize; the overall view is that recession risk rises with sustained higher oil prices but depends on how long the disruption lasts.
Is the Iran War Almost Over or Just Getting Started? Christian Takushi Weighs In (Preview)
Q: So tell us from a high level view, what is your analysis of the situation?
Takushi outlines that the conflict could escalate into a globally impactful, total war scenario, with unpredictability and broad strategic stakes beyond a localized confrontation.
Wall Street Underestimating Risks, We've Raised Cash, Says Chris Puplava
Q: So Chris, if you look back over the past several decades, geopolitical hotspots when they erupt have not been a good reason to sell, but you believe this situation is different—why?
The difference is the combination of constrained oil supply, potential blockages through the Strait of Hormuz, and the risk of sustained high prices which could trigger broader macro effects such as inflationary pressure and tighter credit; given these dynamics, raising cash and dialing back risk appears prudent to protect client portfolios.
