  • Beyond a RPG module review podcast.

Love this show. I have listened through most episodes three times. Why? I learn something almost every time, even re listening. I have also purchased a fair number of modules featured on the show and have not been disappointed. Both Tom and Jason provide great insights on the module content, as well as pointers for module design and role playing skills and techniques. And unlike many rpg shows, their back and forth banter is entertaining. Five stars. I can also recommend other shows Jason ... more

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Corruption of the Blood God
Q: What's your history with Corruption of the Blood God?
I've run this one as a one-shot using the system included in the book.
The Wassailing of Claus Manor
Q: What happened in your game?
The host felt it was a mistake to play in a single one-shot as the game required more time for full engagement, suggesting it would be better as a two or even three-shot.
Night's Dark Terror (Part 2)
Q: Is it a problem that this section is really unconnected to the outside?
It's very disconnected, but it serves to make this part of the adventure feel more isolated.
Piercing the Demon's Eye
Q: Were they more cautious because of the sprung trap, or were they more careless because they thought all the traps were sprung?
They were more cautious; if they recalled correctly, someone pointed out that there were bodies before, but there's no bodies here suggesting a recent trap.
Piercing the Demon's Eye
Q: How did the real world timer aspects work?
It did work; it was fun as the timer started and people started making that decision about how much treasure they could carry and get away.
