  • Father Simon is gone🥺

I almost cried today when I found out that the show has been cancelled.

He is the reason I became a Catholic!

I am sure that he deserves to retire but please let him know that he will be missed.

Also it was not very nice of the station to not let his faithful listeners say goodbye.

  • Definitions

As a Protestant listener to Fr Simon’s podcast for about 15 years, I have learned more from him than any other Bible study I have attended in 35 years. As a dead language scholar, he has “awakened” me to correct definitions in scripture and changed my POV. I have also learned a lot about Catholics and love the saints. I thank Catholic monks for bringing the world the Bible by hand! Thank you “Fr Know It All” with all my love from Texas!

  • A Joy

He knows the Scriptures. And he’s got a good sense of humor, even if every once in a while he’s a bit grouchy. Aren’t we all?

  • Quirky True Catholic

Fr Simon is like that uncle you see at Thanksgiving. He always tells the same stories and the same jokes, but you love him for it. If you are interested in what the Bible actually says in it’s original language Fr Simon is your guy.

Father Simon Says - Metanoia! - March 5, 2026 [ENCORE]
Q: Hi, Father Simon. This is Dennis from Austin. What are your thoughts of singing Tantum Ergo and Holy God, We Praise Thy Name at communion?
Tantum Ergo is appropriate for communion, and Holy God, We Praise Thy Name is a German Te Deum hymn; both are not strictly required but can be used appropriately inside the liturgy depending on the occasion.
Father Simon Says - June 3, 2026 - Is "The" important?
Q: Why are the Pastoral Epistles considered controversial by modern scholars?
They discuss church structure in ways some secular scholars doubt Paul wrote them, which leads to debates about authorship and historical context.
Growing into Salvation - May 28, 2026
Q: What does the word pornea imply in the discussion of marriage validity?
Pornea refers to sexual uncleanness or immorality, not simply adultery; thus, Jesus discusses invalidity in marriage in certain forbidden degrees, while adultery and fornication remain grave sins but do not automatically end a marriage.
Father Simon Says - June 4, 2026 - Yoga and More
Q: What does the church say about yoga for Catholics?
Stretching is allowed, but invoking Hindu gods is forbidden; avoid mantras and the worship aspect, focus on the physical aspect.
Father Simon Says - June 1, 2026 - Real
Q: What should a parishioner do when a priest loses a loved one and how can they show support?
Offer a Mass for the repose of the priest's father's soul and send a Mass card with prayers, keeping the priest in your prayers.
