This spring, I had the pleasure of hearing Heather Anderson live in Silver City, and like her ecxcellent interviews, she was a passionate and articulate speaker. Look forward to each new episode. Five stars!
Always looked up to Buzz ever since the days of those UD handhelds, this is a great podcast! When I met him in Silverton in the mid 2010s it was like meeting a true legend
I used to be a big fan of this podcast and had given it 5 stars. Buzz was great. But unfortunately they decided to allow a biological male to take a female's record and acknowledge the accomplishment as a female. I don't have anything against an adult wanting to be whatever they want but in the interest of protecting biological women, I can't support this. It is incredibly disappointing.
This podcast is the antidote to today’s distraction, disorientation, and disconnection. Heather Anderson and her guest tell stories of taking on a quest, being with nature and community (even on the unsupported efforts !). It’s the boost we all need now to see how we can take on hard challenges together, while having lots of laughs and snacks.
Same reoccurring guests, and it’s drifted a different direction. As much as I wanted to like this new version, I’m done.

This show showcases ultra endurance stories and FKTs (fastest known times) told by elite runners, hikers, and explorers. Episodes tend to unpack route specifics, pacing, crew logistics, gear, nutrition, and the emotional journey of pursuing ambitious records on long trails and high-altitude ascents. A notable strength is the intimate, practical detail guests share about planning and executing records, from weather windows to water sourcing and sleep strategies, often framed by a strong sense of community and teamwork. Listeners looking for tactical, route-focused insights for endurance feats will likely find it especially valuable, while fans of adventure storytelling will enjoy the candid reflections on perseverance, risk, and habitat-spec... more
