Fans In Motion Ep 195: Norman Voss & Dean Cramer of The Bret Michaels Band Top 5 Night Ranger Songs!
Q: How did you each end up with your top Night Ranger picks for this episode?
Dean and Norm explain their personal connections, the moments from tours that shaped their favorites, and specific song elements (melody, guitar work, storytelling) that make each track meaningful to them.
Fans In Motion Ep 194: PART 3! Damon Johnson Discusses His Stint In DAMN YANKEES & New BROTHER CANE!
Q: How did the collaboration feel with Ted Nugent and Jack Blades in the room?
Exciting and inspiring, with moments of high energy and also the pressure of fitting into a known, iconic lineup; Johnson describes the experience as a dream but acknowledges the band's internal tensions and the practical limits of time and commitment.
Fans In Motion Ep 194: PART 3! Damon Johnson Discusses His Stint In DAMN YANKEES & New BROTHER CANE!
Q: What time frame are we looking at for the Damn Yankees sessions?
Early 2000, with sessions in Northern California and multiple trips to meet and write with Jack Blades, Ted Nugent, and Michael Cardelone, while personal life changes were also taking place for Damon Johnson.
Fans In Motion Night Ranger Ep 189: Damon Johnson of Brother Cane, Lynyrd Skynyrd, & Damn Yankees!
Q: How did you navigate identity and staying true to your own voice in the face of MTV-era pressures?
Conrad Rayfield challenged me to define who I wanted to be and reminded me that being authentic beats chasing a trend; that guidance helped me focus on writing and developing a real artist persona rather than adopting the era's Yo-Cat demeanor.
Fans In Motion Night Ranger Ep 189: Damon Johnson of Brother Cane, Lynyrd Skynyrd, & Damn Yankees!
Q: When did you realize you could be more than just a local player and that you had real potential to go pro?
A series of moments kept building confidence: winning a talent show, being invited to join a regional band, and then getting the opportunity to join Split The Dark, which opened the door to real studio work and a record deal.
