  • Just what I needed

You know when you find a great podcast and think, “Wow, I wish I would’ve found this sooner!” That’s Edit Your Life for me. I can imagine how much it would’ve helped me through raising three kids if I’d have found it ten years ago. But even now as two of my kids have flown the nest and I have just one high schooler at home, I find I very much relate to Christine’s stage of life and her advice is often a comfort and an inspiration.

  • A long term listen

I have been listening to this podcast since my kids were little (Christine and Asha together) and they are now preteens (still listening to Christine). I love the mix of practical and emotional advice and tips, find the personal sharing really reassuring and I think this gives exactly the right mix of relatability: I aspire to be more like Christine and Asha, but their challenges are real and their vulnerability reassuring - thanks!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Pleasure & Empowerment in Midlife (with Gabriella Espinosa)
Q: So share why you feel it is so important for us to have open and honest conversations about pleasure and sexuality, and perhaps a mental reframe women can engage in if they're prioritizing themselves?
Gabriella emphasizes expanding what we consider pleasure beyond sexual acts, starting with sensory awareness and self-knowledge, which helps reframe pleasure as essential for self-connection and energy, not selfishness. She also outlines practical steps like pacing, naming sensations, and building a vocabulary to communicate needs.
Connecting to Creativity in Motherhood (with Heidi Fiedler)
Q: What would you tell someone who wants to start a creative practice but doesn't know what to try?
Encourage them to let it surprise them and not to feel bound by past identities; it could be process-driven play rather than a grand, predefined project and can involve any activity that feels engaging and meaningful.
Why You Don't Need A Budget (with Dana Miranda)
Q: Why do you believe people don't need an investment account or traditional long-term investing, and what are some alternative ways to plan for the future?
Investing advice often presumes a long-term savings framework that isn't feasible or ethical for many, and while investing can be prudent, there are no perfectly ethical options within a capitalism-based system. The core idea is to acknowledge limitations, consider personal risk tolerance, and explore other ways to build security and future plans beyond conventional retirement accounts when possible.
Why You Don't Need A Budget (with Dana Miranda)
Q: And can you give listeners a top line on budget culture, what it is and why you feel we should be working to dismantle it?
Budget culture is the dominant approach to money in our culture, predicated on restriction, shame, and greed. It creates a one-size-fits-all model that ignores individual nuance and systemic barriers, making it hard to achieve real financial well-being. The goal is to name this culture and start to break it down so people can design money habits that fit their lives and values.
Reshaping Your Career (with Reena Ninan)
Q: What are some of the gains that you have experienced with your business by believing in slowing down?
Reena shares how slowing down has allowed her to notice what energizes her, which clients need more, and ultimately how it has led to better outcomes.
