Love food. Love history. This is a great podcast, but occasionally there is the odd blip that just is not true. Like, ‘all British people immediately know you’re talking about curry when you say Ruby’. I’m 36 and have not once heard or used that term in my native Britain. I had to Google it and, as suspected, it is cockney slang. Little things like that really make you question everything else you hear on the podcast.
The topics might be interesting in someone else’s hands but I cannot bear to listen to his delivery. He is entirely UNinteresting to listen to. .. and I listen to Dan Pashman at times when I’ve run out of my favorites
Always love learning about the history of food & cooking, but it's even more enjoyable when Simon tells the story.
A great knife maker named Ken Onion made a family of smaller folding knives named the Leek, the Scallion, and the Chive. I own all three.
It’s so so good… his knowledge is INCREDIBLE….
