Drop the Subject with Jarrett & Ally provides a satirical look at current events, trends and the eccentricities of modern-day relationships. Should humans hibernate? What happens when we start dating robots? These questions and many more are tackled from the perspective of loudmouthed lesbian Ally Johnson and well respected (until people find out he’s on this show) Journalist Jarrett Hill. I couldn't start my work day without listening to this podcast! Ally and Jarrett are hilarious together and give me the warm fuzzies in places I didn't even know functioned any longer. If you aren't listening to them, shame on you! You need to listen to this podcast now and see if the warm fuzzies overtake you as well! Please shower them with praise and candy corn!
I’ve been an avid listener of Kevin and Ally since their Bay Area days. Even after I moved to Atlanta, I continued to listen to their podcast and was absolutely devastated when their show got cancelled. I was so excited when (cue sexy voice) Channel Q picked them up and have grown to love the conversations between Jarrett and Ally. I find myself actually laughing out loud in the car like a maniac when listening to their podcast while commuting. I listen to every show and look forward to many m... more
6/4 Update:
I still love Ally, but it’s not the same without Kevin. Kevin and Ally had great chemistry and always seemed like they were having fun. Jarrett doesn’t have the same vibe and has a bad habit of dominating the conversation. He also doesn’t find anything funny unless it is a story about himself. Such a bummer.
Original Post:
Love that Kevin and Ally found a home on this diverse, inclusive station. These two radio stars have awesome chemistry, a chill vibe, and make me laugh har... more
I listened to the two week interval with Jarrett Hill and it still had a good premise and was different. But now that they officially announced Kevin’s separation and the switch with Jarrett the show kinda slumped.
I’ve been listening since Live105 days and liked the whole group dynamic that the show had previously. Kevin and Ally were good together, when one was absent, it was noticeable.
Although Jarrett Hill is a very intelligent person and good journalist, this type of show isn’t his for... more
I miss Kevin so much, but Garrett is great too! I’m a long time listener of Kevin and Ally so I was sad to hear Kevin is working on other projects for the time being (wth Kevin!), but whatever, we understand. Kevin and Ally’s friendship chemistry is perfect for radio, together they’re hilarious and I could listen to them all day long. My commute is long so music gets old quickly, I instead listen to talk radio in the AM and this podcast on my way home. I’m a huge fan of Ally and Garrett is a g... more
