  • It’s lost its way

I’ve now lost confidence in the academic rigour of Dr Karen. In the latest episode on supplements he tells his contributor that by switching around the supplements he takes, he’s in effect carrying out a random controlled experiment on himself! This is such a misunderstanding of the RCT process it makes the information in whole podcast questionable. I’ll look elsewhere for my information.

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Are We Making Our Children More Allergic? | Prof Adam Fox
Q: Can adults alter their allergy risk later in life?
While early life is a critical window, there is still potential to influence the immune system in adulthood through interventions that affect the microbiome and inflammation, though effects may be smaller and more complex.
Are We Making Our Children More Allergic? | Prof Adam Fox
Q: Why is early exposure to allergenic foods important?
Early introduction of allergenic foods into the weaning diet helps the infant's gut recognize those foods as harmless, reducing the likelihood of an inappropriate immune reaction later on.
Are We Making Our Children More Allergic? | Prof Adam Fox
Q: What is driving the rise in allergies, and is it gut-related?
The episode explains that while gut microbiome plays a major role, many factors—diet, delivery method, antibiotic use, and Western lifestyle—contribute in small nudges that collectively influence allergy risk; there is no single cause, but the gut-skin-immune axis is central.
The Stem Cell Scandal That Put An Famous Doctor In Hospital | Scott Carney
Q: So how can you avoid falling for scams like this too?
The guest explains that scammers monetize lies through online platforms, and consumers should demand transparency, seek robust clinical evidence, prefer established medical guidelines, and avoid treatments marketed as miracle cures, especially those promoted by celebrities.
How to Make Dieting Easy - And the Most Underrated Foods for Health | Shyla Cadogan
Q: How does fiber intake relate to conditions like endometriosis, and how should it be implemented?
Increasing fiber helps with gut health and can modulate inflammation; start with a few grams more gradually, diversify fiber sources, and monitor digestion to avoid discomfort.
