Well, this day was always going to come. We've been booing his name for over 100 episodes and now you get to hear why we loathe John Pfeifer. When John asks Lila out on a date, she's thrilled - she's had a crush on him for some time. But things turn ... more
If you ever read a single one of these ridiculous books, please help yourself relive and rejoice (or heal, or all three) by listening to these two amazing Irish ladies recap the series and put the story lines (thin as they are) in context and with a feminist AF lens. The best reason to get up on a Wednesday/Thursday (episode drop depending on international time zone).
I don’t actually have that many memories of the Sweet Valley High books, so I’ve had an amazing time experiencing them through Karyn and Anna’s recaps and reactions. I’ve listened to the whole series probably three times; it was my comfort series in the first year of the pandemic. Thank you so much for this.
I found this podcast a few months ago and I quickly went through all of the episodes in a short amount of time. I’m a SVH fan who is right around their age so I remember loving these books when I was young teenager. Anna and Karyn are hilarious and I laugh all the time at the way they point out the absurdity of these books. But you can also tell they are fans of the series. This podcast has rekindled my love of SVH and I’ve loved revisiting this series with Double Love.
I’m almost glad to be wearing face masks at the moment because otherwise I’m that person who’s smiling away madly to themselves on the bus or while walking. Always so much fun to listen to Anna and Karyn giggling away 😊
As a teen in the 80s, I was obsessed with these books. I love the take that these wickedly funny women have on them. It’s fun to relive it all, and to read some new ones that I had missed in my youth. They keep me entertained driving my daughter back-and-forth to her activities. So if you see a woman on the highway laughing her butt off, it might be me!
