Jordan and Dave are super fans, but they go deep into the music of TMBG. As a lifelong fan I learned a lot didn’t know about the band, and appreciate the deep cuts, attention to rarities and demos, and astute analysis of the lyrics especially. The most important part of the show are the interviews though. Several musicians, producers, venue owners, and friends of the John’s appear pretty regularly giving the podcast a rare depth of insight that’s really valuable. Both Ozzy and Lemmy are Jons. If you want a cool nick name, you're a John. Enjoying the nerdery, guys. Much love from MN -das Boot
Have been a casual fan of TMBG since I was little and only recently have I had the thought "huh. I wanna know more about these guys" and I happened to find them through the Weird Al song deep dive episode on YouTube at about the time I was thinking this. Funny, clever, and well-researched - just like the band's music itself.
They Might Be Giants are my favorite band but sometimes it feels like I like this podcast more than I like TMBG. Jordan and Dave have great chemistry and they always find great guests to have on. I also really appreciate how in depth Jordan goes for the research for this show.
If you told my 1990s self that there would be an audio show to discuss my favorite band in depth every month, I never would’ve believed it. And I’m loving it.
