  • Binging the episodes

I am having a water birth in a birthing center in Mexico, which is wayyyy different than where I had originally thought I would deliver my first baby. But the more I educate myself on home births/birth centers the more I know this is the way for me. I’m so happy to have found your podcast, and am feeling increasingly informed and empowered to delivery my baby boy in Feb 2024! Thank you 1000x over for giving me my nightly source of binge-worthy content 🙏🏼💙

  • Love this podcast

Love this podcast I look forward to listening a new episode every week. Sarah and Matthew are a breath of fresh air. I have not had a home birth but I have had 4 natural births in 3 different countries Canada, U.S.A and Germany. Germany was by far the best experience I delivered at the most famous birth clinic in the country and I was fully supported in a beautiful physiological water birth by the most amazing midwife….

Witchcraft, surprise babies, and moving during pregnancy with Meggie and Steve Andrews
Q: Steve, what were your thoughts on Home Birth when you all started to have those conversations?
It was a new concept for me. I wasn't sure what to think at first, but the more we read into it, the more I was on board with it. I found it easy to transition from thinking hospital to home birth.
Witchcraft, surprise babies, and moving during pregnancy with Meggie and Steve Andrews
Q: Did you know that you wanted to do a home birth kind of from the beginning or was it a more gradual thing as you went through pregnancy?
We didn't plan on getting pregnant and when we found out, I was hesitant about having to go to the hospital and see an OB due to previous negative experiences. It quickly became clear that we wanted a home birth after hearing positive experiences from a friend and reading empowering books.
Switching to Home Birth for Baby Number 4 with Jarmar and Jonnelle Dupas
Q: How did you realize labor was coming on and what did you do?
Jonnelle shared that after a prenatal visit, she began having crampy Braxton Hicks which led her to believe labor was starting, and they prepared for it by showing the kids a water birth video.
Switching to Home Birth for Baby Number 4 with Jarmar and Jonnelle Dupas
Q: What specifically about the hospital setting were you looking to shift and kind of experience something different?
Jonnelle wanted a more peaceful and undisturbed experience, feeling confident in her body after having previous children and frustrated with hospital procedures.
Choosing Home Birth As A Registered Nurse with Alyssa Queen
Q: How did your past experiences as a nurse affect your perspective on delivering your own baby?
