  • The safest space to listen and gain powerful knowledge!

I am currently 23 weeks pregnant with my first baby and listening to Karen and her guests every day, such a valued and integral part of this sacred journey for me. Karen, you were made for this important work and I am so glad to have found this resource! My favourite podcast on all things motherhood. Thank you so much.

  • Stop interrupting the guests please Karen!

While I love birth stories, and questions to prior guests further into their story, I find Karen interrupts the guests way too often. In the middle of details I would love to hear, she interrupts and asks sometimes benign questions and details that would’ve been chatted about how she not interrupted. A guest might be in a flow sharing how something feels, and then is interrupted, and asked about exactly what they had been trying to share about. I find myself wanting to shush Karen, to tell her t... more

  • A BLESSING

A must listen for anyone even thinking of having children one day. I was subconsciously not letting myself get pregnant because of my fear of the pain of childbirth. I finally researched “pain free birth” to see if it was possible because deep in my spirit, I knew it had to be. And sure enough, I came across Karen and binged many episodes and I’ve never felt more confident and fearless to give birth than I do now. ❤️ THANK YOU GOD AND THANK YOU KAREN!!!

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

#106 | How Faith, Physiology, and Preparation Led to a Redemptive Birth
Q: Tell us a little about your first and second births and introduce yourself.
Anna describes a hospital induction for her first birth after IUGR, followed by a painful, drug-heavy experience. She then explains switching to a home birth midwife for her second birth, which was calmer but still intense, leading to a transformative third birth after healing and preparation. She emphasizes the importance of choosing care that aligns with birthing goals and the impact this has on postpartum.
#101 | Planned Hospital Birth Turned Peaceful Free Birth in a Truck
Q: What made you decide to attempt an unmedicated birth after a previous hospital birth with an epidural?
I wanted to explore birth with less intervention, after reflecting on my first birth and choosing to prepare mentally and spiritually, which helped me feel confident that an unmedicated birth could be achievable.
#95 | Fear Free, Pain Free, and Joyful Twin Home Birth
Q: What was the birth like, and how did your midwife influence the outcome?
The midwife evaluated the situation, detected scar tissue restricting dilation, and released it, which caused a dramatic jump to nine centimeters. The birth unfolded mostly peacefully, with the first baby delivered after a long but steady labor and the second one following more quickly after the first. The midwife's expertise, along with the couple's supportive environment, kept interventions minimal and the experience centered on natural processes at home.
#90 | From an Excruciating First Labor to a Pain-Free and Fear-free Birth
Q: What allowed your body to open in those hours?
I immersed myself in faith, prepared my heart, and embraced a different mindset, which made the experience enjoyable instead of painful.
#90 | From an Excruciating First Labor to a Pain-Free and Fear-free Birth
Q: What did you do differently to prepare for this? And how did your mindset start shifting?
I focused on wanting a fear-free birth and getting into the Word of God, worship music, and avoiding social media to stay grounded.
