IP#323 John Galten – The Spiritual Direction of St. Claude De La Colombiere on Inside the Pages with Kris McGregor – Discerning Hearts Podcast
Q: What makes St. Claude de la Colombière a vital guide for today's spiritual life?
The discussion highlights Claude's calm character, balanced approach to mysticism, and his role in guiding St. Margaret Mary through revelations, which remains relevant for cultivating interior life and trust in divine providence.
IP#323 John Galten – The Spiritual Direction of St. Claude De La Colombiere on Inside the Pages with Kris McGregor – Discerning Hearts Podcast
Q: How did you become associated with the book and its reissue by Ignatius Press?
John explains his early involvement with Ignatius Press and how they began publishing both new works and reprints of spiritual classics, leading to the updated edition featuring a foreword by him.
Fr. Christopher Collins S.J. – Three Moments of the Day on Inside the Pages with Kris McGregor – Discerning Hearts Podcasts
Q: What led you to put this together to determine that there's the need for those three moments?
The idea grew out of my involvement with the Apostleship of Prayer and the understanding that the Eucharist, as the source and summit, provides a foundational encounter with the Lord. The three moments set daily bookends—morning offering, daytime actions aligned with the Heart of Jesus, and an evening examination—so that people can consciously offer, review, and renew their hearts in relation to Jesus and the world.
IP#357 Gretchen Crowe – Praying the Rosary with St. John Paul II on Inside the Pages with Kris McGregor – Discerning Hearts Podcast
Q: What motivated you to put together Praying the Rosary with St. John Paul II?
Crowe explains that she wanted to connect John Paul II's deep devotion to Mary with practical devotion in readers' lives, showing how his life and writings invite a closer relationship with Jesus through Mary and the Rosary.
IP#245 Fr. Gary Caster – Joseph – The Man Who Raised Jesus on Inside the Pages with Kris McGregor
Q: Has there been any surprising insight for you while writing about St. Joseph?
A surprising insight has been reconsidering his apostolate and recognizing how his example reframes leadership and fatherhood in a modern context, especially for campus ministry and lay Catholic life.
