  • A joyful discovery

After hearing Flo on NTS I thought I’d check this podcast and it’s just a joy! Super engaging conversation with people that to be honest I’ve often not heard of (embarrassing!). But I’m always left wanting to discover more about the people she chats with and the art and work they do. It really is like being down the allotment with them and you come away feeling you know some new interesting people. What more could you ask for in half an hour. Check it!

The White Pube
Q: Was that experience that both of you had in some way, this real experience that you had, is that the inspiration for the book?
The initial idea for the book was to talk to other artists and ask them about their experiences, instead of just sharing our own opinions.
The White Pube
Q: Did you ever think that you would become critics like during that time when you were studying and making art?
No, we thought we were going to be painters, but art school was a wild west space that allowed us to come out as something completely different.

Hayley discusses her journey as an independent artist after being signed at a young age, emphasizing the freedom and excitement of creating music without a major label.
