I love that this podcast addresses a variety of topics related to running/ultrarunning and that the host asks very thoughtful and compelling questions to his guests. 10/10 recommend!
Recent longer form interviews have been informative and entertaining. Gives us a nice mix of Euro and U.S. perspective. Wasn’t into the faux soul searching that some of the previous shows tried to provide. Josh seems to be back to making running and listening fun.
I’ve been listening to Borderlands for about 18 months, and it was the first podcast I really got into when I started running. Josh’s perspective is refreshing—he makes running feel approachable while mixing in thoughtful business takes that I find both interesting and relatable as a tech entrepreneur. Tried giving this podcast a shot a few times, but apparently self-awareness isn’t part of their training plan. At one point they actually said climate change is a hoax. Imagine being that out of breath and out of touch. Whatever you think about UTMB’s climate efforts, denying climate change is hands down the ultimate Bad Runners Take. Maybe before hitting “record,” they should try reading the room — or at least a science book.
Borderlands has a unique takes on trail running. They don’t just concentrate on the elites (although they have superb interviews). I enjoy the coverage of great design, fashion and running culture. They have really passionate discussions on races from the US, Europe and further afield.
They’re 100% in the corner of “The 95”. Give it a try and you’ll be hooked.
