  • Sue Lawley

I’ve listened to all the archives from the start of the lockdown and was relieved to listen to the episodes where Sue Lawley was not the presenter. If it wasn’t for the guests I would have moved on swiftly. I found her manner to be rude, patronising, condescending, glib, argumentative and with a fixation on how much money her guest has made.

    New to podcasts at 63!

What a gentle introduction into podcast radio, Desert Island Discs is to me. So gently light and thought provoking. The castaway is the star of the episode each week which as it should be. The presenters although all different in their own way, always set up the program so easily and it is a really great listen. The music choices are as different as the castaway, which is really interesting and unique. Well done BBC and thanks for the many expected hours of great listeni... more

  • Just the best!

Love love love Desert Island Discs. So many inspiring people in the world and all so humble. Kirsty Young is just the best. She delves, but in such a gentle and sensitive manner. Plus fab music and good humour.
