  • My go-to podcast for Philly/Philly area food recs

I booked a table at Emilia, booked an omakaze experience with chef Kevin Yanaga at 637 Philly Sushi Club, and bought Pizza Freak’s frozen pizza from Weaver’s co-op in Ambler…over the span of just a couple of months in 2026…all direct consequences of being an avid listener of Delicious City Podcast! I mentioned to chef Kevin Yanaga that I found out about his omakaze experience from this podcast and I can confirm that he loves you guys!

  • Hosts Have Fun

Beyond being informative and quite relative to the restaurant and food scene in Philly; Eli ,Dave and Marissa seem to have so much fun with one another on the show. It is a very casual laid-back platform and I’m glad it is transcribed because you can take notes and go to all the great places they mentioned. They have really created a great little community.

  • Love this podcast.

I am always excited to hear the latest. The interviewers are always on point sharing new things to try. The humor and commentary are genuine.

The sound goes high and low and high again. I am always adjusting my volume to listen. Not sure if that is a podcast issue or the Apple podcast download settings.

  • LOVIN IT

How did I just discover this podcast?

Been listening to Chef Radio for a while & somehow missed this!

Anyway LOVE the content even though I don’t live in Philly anymore.

BUT! FYI the volume is weird. It’s like your voices are kinda low (so I crank the volume) but if anyone laughs it’s deafening! Like shockingly loud.

I dunno. Just so u know.

Talking Points

Recent interactions between the hosts and their guests.

Ep. 136: The Tasties Tix + Sake, Soup, and Soul Food on Broad
Q: What do you usually toss to a curious guest asking for recommendations?
Begin with the Peach Doucet Frozen cocktail as the signature starter, pair it with an appetizer trio, and then move to a bold entree like blackened shrimp and grits, finishing with a dramatic table-side flame drink.
Ep. 137: The Bread Room with Christina McKeough
Q: So how did the bread room come to be?
Christina explains that The Bread Room grew out of necessity as the bread team required more space and better workflow after outgrowing the original kitchen. They repurposed a back storage area, moved the bread operations, and eventually established a dedicated space that allowed for longer fermentation, larger production, and improved efficiency.
Delicious City LIVE: Craig LaBan Interviews Eli, Marisa and Dave
Q: I'd be curious to hear a little bit more about your backgrounds and what your day jobs are before you got into this and how you got into this.
The hosts describe their diverse paths into food and media: Eli's transition from chef to podcasting and focusing on authentic, storytelling-driven conversations; Marisa bringing a radio/hosting background and a love for Philly's eater landscape; Dave balancing a professional career in pharmaceutical compliance with a passion for food content and community-building.
Ep. 135: Saif Manna's Secret Cookie Ingredients
Q: What's unique about your cookie lineup?
He describes multiple cookies with distinctive textures and centers (triple chocolate with a white center, pistachio chocolate chunk with pistachio flour, and a very thin brown-butter cookie with miso), illustrating a philosophy of variety within a single bakery.
Ep. 135: Saif Manna's Secret Cookie Ingredients
Q: How did you decide to pivot from cooking to baking as a career?
He wanted a greater challenge and saw baking as a way to express creativity beyond immediate meals, eventually realizing bakery work allowed longer shelf life and room for experimentation.
