Mind blowing corruption and yes, deliberate indifference to suffering and a lack of desire to truly reduce crime with policies to rehabilitate and help. It’s sick. We moved to Alabama last year and WBHM has helped me decide to stay. Thankful that you’re doing the hard work!
This system here in Alabama is so corrupt and broken. Thank you for shedding light on how we got here and helping listeners understand where we are going. I am really looking forward to new content and how it includes some of the more recent events: Fires set in Donaldson due to garbage not being picked up, botched execution in Holman by a historical questionable warden with a past, and PLEASE dear Lord do more pieces about the Women’s facilities and PREA.
For many of us that don’t have interaction with the penal part of our justice system, this podcast provides great insight . Super impressive that this was Mary Scott’s first podcast. Eager to hear wh... more
The story that Ms Hodgins tells about the Alabama prison system is compelling and thorough. It’s clear her research has been extensive and her story-telling skills are excellent. She doesn’t shy away from difficult topics, but she also does not include details for their salaciousness.
What a great podcast to have a better understanding of the prison system and how it could be better. Kay Ivey should listen to it
