I had know knowledge of Christian Science or Mary Baker Eddy before listening to this podcast. Cindy tells history in an almost hypnotic way with wonderful intention and lyrical storytelling. Thank you for shedding light on this piece of history. A great listen.

this is excellent microhistory a la Carlo Ginzburg... and such an interesting look into a place and time when community worship was a serious priority and an integral part of American culture... meticulously researched and presented with a subtle emphasis on the humanity and motivation of everyone involved... this podcast is an obvious work of love...

Podcast host Cindy Safronoff has woven together compelling narratives that highlight not only some of the foundations of her faith, but the challenges, art, architecture, and social issues of the Seattle area, spanning more than one hundred years. Bonus - Cindy has one of the best podcast voices you will ever hear! Masterfully recorded.
Even though I’ve only listen to 10 episodes so far, this series is so enlightening and educational. Cindy reads with liveliness and understanding and love of her subject. It’s a joy to listen to.
I’m now up to Episode 45 and am completely engaged. I especially enjoyed Episode 43 with the lively jazz rendition of Harold Weeks’ “Hindustan “. I knew Mr. and Mrs. Weeks when I was a Sunday School student at Fourth Church of Christ, Scientist. The couple was warm, loving and joyful.
